As some (probably all) of you know, I have started with BJR 4.0 for Call of Duty 4. Some of us have already played with the mod on the test server and it seems to be running very stable and smooth. I will not be surprised if some bugs/glitches will show up, but I am very satisfied with the way it runs in its early testing stages.

I have updated my site (http://bjusterbaarlik.googlepages.com) with more information and have created a new features page (http://bjusterbaarlik.googlepages.com/featurescod22) with all the features the mod has.

I think I will be using this thread just like I did with the BJR2 thread.

People using the sniper rifle can no longer rechamber a round while still looking through the scope. Instead, they will automatically zoom out and rechamber a new round.
I hope the semi automaticsnipers do not have this :D

lBJ provide a download for clans who want to test it?

That feature is indeed only for the bolt-action sniper rifles, I will change that sentence to reflect this.

I'd rather not put anything up for download yet, if clans really want to test it they can contact me, post here on the forums or even connect to the server and have the mod auto-downloaded to them.

At the moment, a very stable version is running on our Realism server. It has all the features I can think of and could implement at this moment without the mod tools. Now, I just have to wait for the mod tools to be released before I can do all the other stuff I want to do.

If you want to check it out, here is the server IP: 217.146.91.211:28962.

Currently, the mod has the following features:

Weapon Characteristics
- Corrected the ROF for the M16, AK-47, M4, MP44, Mini-Uzi, AK-74u, P90, M249 SAW, RPD, M60E4 and all the semi-automatic weapons.
- Changed the weight, handling and movementspeed accordingly for all weapons.
- Fixed locational damage for all weapons.
- Changed optimal ranges for all weapons.
- Modified the accuracy of all weapons. No more spraying, unless you don't want to hit your enemy.
- Modified ADS accuracy of weapons, the SMG's and pistols cannot be used as snipers anymore.
- Increased weapon sway effect.
- Bolt-action snipers can not rechamber while ADS.
- Disabled the ability to go ADS while in mid-air.
- Slightly reduced the throwing distance of grenades.
- Customizable weapon zoom.

Perks
- Juggernaut now works as an Armour Vest, now has 100% more health instead of 75%.

Ragdoll
- New ragdoll effects.

Messages
- Message center, can hold 10 messages.
- Next map messages.
- Welcome messages.

HUD
- Hit Icon can be disabled.
- Dogtags on scoreboard can be disabled.
- All objective icons can be disabled.

Damage handling
- Weapon drops when hit in hand.
- Weapon drops when hit in the arms.
- Realistic fall damage.
- Helmet/hat drops.
- View shifts when hit.

Health Regeneration
- Health Regeneration can be turned off completely.
- The amount of time needed to regenerate health is customizable.

Hardpoints
- Amount of kills needed to get the UAV is customizable.
- Amount of kills needed to get the Airstrike is customizable.
- Amount of kills needed to get the Helicopter is customizable.
- The player who destroys a helicopter will be awarded with 25 points and his teammates with 5 points each.

Obituaries
- Obituaries can be turned off.
- Teamkill obituaries can be turned on when all other obituaries are off.
- Optional message which tells a player by who he was killed if the obituaries are off.

Spawn Protection
- Spawn protection.
- Customizable spawn protection time.

Miscellaneous
- Mod logo.
- Third Person spectating.
- Longer shellshock times.
- Ultra stupid bots used for testing. (Accessed with the cvar: scr_testclients.)

Sabotage Specific
- The plant/defuse sounds can be disabled.
- The 'Kill' icon above the bomb carrier's head can be disabled.

Search & Destroy Specific
- The plant/defuse sounds can be disabled.
- Players can be awarded 10 points for staying alive in a round.
After the mod tools are released, I would like to, at least, implement the following:

Damage handling
- Players fall over when hit in their feet.
- Players fall over when hit in their lower legs.
- Players will fall over when hit by an explosion.

Sounds
- Realistic pain sounds.
- Realistic death sounds.
That list is, by no means, complete.

I hope people take interest in this and want to try it out. I would like it if we went to play on that server one evening instead of our normal hardcore server.

The Call of Duty 4 Mod Tools have been released today, so I can continue the work on BJR. :)

You mean you can adjust the points, so in theory you can set the points to 124,084 and you'll be lv 55 in 1 round.

With these 10 points I mean real points which show on the scoreboard.

What you described is very possible if modded servers weren't unranked...

I have updated the version on the BJR server, new features include:


Juggernaut changed to Armour Vest, now has 100% more health instead of 75%.

Names above the enemies can be disabled.
Names above your teammates can be disabled.

Players fall over when hit in their feet and will no longer be able to sprint.
Players fall over when hit in their lower legs and will no longer be able to sprint. (Turned OFF in config.)
Players will fall over when hit by an explosion.
After taking too much fall damage, players might not be able to sprint and/or jump anymore.

Other players can now hear you moan and grunt when you are wounded.

Realistic pain sounds.
Realistic death sounds.

New (edited) main menu.

Having come back to COD4 after a break from all FPS gaming i thought it would be good to build up my acquaintences within the AA Clan. As a BJR user on COD2 back in the day i would love to have the chance to trial the latest version of BJR for COD4.

Any chance wou can provide the files. I have connected to your server but do not have any of the server or mod config files.

It has the files but none of the parts which i can change... Where you can switch on a certain section and set custom messages...

Hmm... Not sure if its one you guys can help with nut after changing the re-direct to my server i now get the error "http://andyb1988.getmyip.com/images/error.JPG

Anything you can help with? Seems like it may be a problem wit the mod

What are the redirect settings in the config and where are the supposed-to-be-redirected files uploaded to?

hehe,

After writing all the details ready to reply i noticed one thing which was different.

the problem was that i had a capital M in Mods on my redirect server where as in the game server it wasnt. Now i feel really stupid!

Sorry for all the fuss.

Next challenge is getting the custom map working :D

Some more information about the officer gametype.


Officer

Overview

In this teambased gametype, players will have to kill the other team's officer while protecting their own. Every team's officer is randomly chosen from the available players in that team. Whenever a team kills the enemy officer, they will be rewarded with a team point. The team with the highest score will win after the timelimit or scorelimit is reached.

The officer has only a golden Desert Eagle and is not able to pick up other weapons. The officer of a team is indicated with his team icon next to his name on the scoreboard. The officer will (hopefully) also be visible on the UAV with a special icon to both friendly and enemy forces, but that needs implementing still.

Being an officer should never be boring. Currently, you will gain access to a UAV after 2 minutes of staying alive. After 5 minutes of survival, the officer will be able to drop an airstrike anywhere in the map. After that, the officer has to wait before he can use an airstrike again. Currently, the cooldown timer is set on 2 minutes (this is customizable). I am also thinking of giving the officer unlimited UAV access, so he can address his teammates to the enemy officer, but that would probably only be useful on bigger maps and it needs implementing as well.

Scoring

Scoring goes as follows: Whenever a player kills the enemy officer, he will be awarded 50 points. Whenever a player protects his own officer, he will be awarded 30 points. For every minute the officer manages to stay alive, he will get 20 points.

Technical stuff

This gametype uses the TDM spawns and is compatible with every map that has Team Deathmatch compatibility.

A few things to add after I have been working on the gametype:


The officer is now visible on the UAV with a special icon, this will hopefully speed up the game a little bit on larger maps with fewer players.
The officer now gets unlimited UAV access (cvar customizable), but only for himself! He still receives the normal 30-second UAV after 2 minutes to help his teammates.
