Hello all...I'm back again with a review on some really old movie. Like a retro flashback to the time when movies were still an interesting expression of idea, instead of being a compilation of bad acting, lots of CGI, and big BANG to fill audience eyes but not mind...The old movie is "The Shawshank Redemption", based on a novel by Stephen King (part of his 4 novels book named after the four seasons) from early 90's starring Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman. It's a really touchy drama for a wrongly accused banker (Robbins) in murdering his own wife and sentenced to life in a prison ruled by the head warden, the main villain in the story...The banker manages to get under the skin of this head warden making a illegal profit by hiding his taxes...Always silent (well almost) he was starting to make a friends amongst other prisoners and begins to blend in. Day after day, month after month his past sins were almost redeemed especially when he gave a second birth to the old library in the prison and began teaching his fellow prisoners, how to write and read and be more educated...The whole story is been narrated by one of his fellow prisoners (Morgan Freeman) which is the closest friend to Andy and their conversations are very pilosophicaly and pleasant to see on screen. The whole development of the characters is something which is very rarely seen on recent movies... It's a wonderfully made movie which at sometimes is a bit more dramatical, but always pleasant to watch... And gives you something to think about after you've seen it... A must for all the fans of "serious" deep and involving movies...That's all from me for now, next time more, just the film will be different...Cheers and don't forget to enjoy good movies...I'm out... :)
