Hello,

Here is another thread, this time about the progress the mod will make between 2.1 and 2.2. Suggestions can be placed in the appropriate forum as well as the feedback.

I will soon post updates, since I do not have the mod here at the moment. I am also planning on making a Single Player version, but that one will just be for personal use and anyone interested will be provided with a copy.

Update:

29-1-2006

- Unknown Soldier handling.
- Customizable Spawn Protection time.
- Compass and ammo/offhand display fadeable.
- Weapons make-over.

I edited all the weapons again for better realistic feeling. This makes it possible to stand or crouch still and give suppressing fire from the hip with SMG's. MG's are heavy, so they will not be that accurate from the hip, best accuracy is always reached when in ADS mode. Running & gunning is still impossible when you try to do both at the same time, but doing one at a time (either running or gunning) will work fine.

Unknown Soldiers will now be automatically renamed when they spawn, to BJustReal Fan #xxxxx. Where the x's stand for a number from 1 to 10000.

It has been a long time, but here's an update:

19-3-2006

- Changed some of the weapons's specs after consulting other encyclopedia's. ROF has changed for some guns as well as the effective range. Shotgun has a slightly longer effective range now.
- Altered the fall damage again. I need feedback on this.
- Third Person spectating. Whenever you are spectating, you will see everything from third person view.

Will be uploaded to the server the next minutes with falldamage (bjr_falldamage) and third person spectating (bjr_thirdpersonspectate) turned on.

Update:

BJustReal 2.1.2 released.

I will continue updating this thread for changes until 2.2 is released. I fixed a bug today in Bjusters Taunts where Germans would yell "Russische Scharfschütze!" when fighting Americans. I will upload this later, when the server is empty, so expect to auto-download Bjusters Taunts again.

I will also upload the client which Tikkas has been asking for to fix the red dots and the sniper, as well as the HUD where the healthbar would partially go through the ammo counter.

Update:

Weapons:

All pistols damage reduced by 10.
All pistols effective range reduced (from 40 to 30).
All pistols bash damage reduced (from 80 to 50).
All pistols max spread increased by 5.
Bash damage reduced of all weapons.
All SMG's max spread reduced by 3.
All MG's max spread reduced by 4.
All MG's hip accuracy slightly increased.


Features:

Third Person Spectating is now CPU friendly!
Rank uniforms are about 90% done, few tweaks are needed.

The new version will not be available any time soon. It will also not be auto-downloaded to the players.

The reloading and stuttering of the snipers are fixed in a client iwd file, with which I am trying to figure out why that won't auto-download.

Bj what did you do to make the Taunts download. If not just make a seperate file that has to be on the server with the serververion and that will be downloaded. So make it in such a way that the mod needs the client and server to run, and that the client only needs the client.

Might be the simple way?

Update:

Points received in SD for planting/defusing a bomb and for staying alive one round are now fully customizable.


I have also uploaded the newer version of the mod to the server with the new uniforms added. Please report any flaws and/or bugs here about them.

I have also uploaded the BJR client iwd file. I hope that this one auto-downloads and if it does, I hope that no one will get the IWD Sum/Name Mismatch. IW just has to fix that.

Good news, I don't get the mismatch :D
Bad news, I don't get a download!

So keep trying I would say BJ or make the whole mod download again.
Can't we just do it like the no red dots mod, that downloads. Just make a mini mod with the fixes you need and let that one download?

u get the IWD Sum/Name Mismatch if u're not is running a pure server and still has the "pure server" on "yes"...
That was the prob for me. don't know if that's for everyone..

Well, the uniforms do not seem to work at the moment. Everyone keeps having the rank 1 uniform, even while they should be promoted. I will have to correct Godfried's code.

Took out the attacker/defender switch feature to provide compatibility with user-created maps. (Currently only applies to mp_bridge.)

Update:

24-5-2006

Players can choose between 1st and 3rd person view while spectating by pressing the use-key.
Fixed reload animation of the Gewehr 43 and the SVT 40.
Fixed rechamber animation of the Mosin Nagant.


I have updated and uploaded the mod and client accordingly. Third person spectating is on and you should be able to switch between views by pressing the use-key (default: F). Sometimes, it is a bit buggy though, but it's still beta.

Tikkas, if you don't care , i would be interested too to get the new version of BjustReal (bridge correct) as we like this map and your realism too ;)

I don't know the way to modify the sv var value inside the rotation command, if there is some way.

Update:

31-5-2005

(BUGFIX) The 'missing flag' waypoints are now turned off with bjr_objectiveicons.
Players no longer scream if hit in the head.
Various pieces of code were redone to improve efficiency.
Changed the raise and drop times of almost all weapons. Raise and drop times depend on the weapon's weight.

Update:

Godfried has optimized his uniforms to prevent weird clipping errors and the like.
You now see a message with your current rank when you (re)spawn.
Some weapon handling was redone, but there are no major changes.


For those who are interested, I have uploaded a BJustReal 2.2 BETA version which can be obtained here (http://www.aa-clan.net/downloads/BJustReal/BJustReal%20BETA.zip). There is no readme and I cannot guarantee that this version is bugfree, it is a beta version. If someone finds a bug, just make a topic about it in the BJR "General Discussions" forums. A text file with all the cvars is included with the beta version.

- No obituaries
- When pressed TAB that u dont know who is dead who is alive.
- One weapon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Bleading (optional)
- Bandaging ur self when bleading (opitonal)
- High unreallistic jumps - HIGH jump damage / very high jump - death. (edited: i just jumped from 15 meter in V2 map and stayed alive !!!!????)
- Little Bit less nades range and damage but little bit.
- And side switching randomly allies attack axis attack (im getting borred deffending for 13 rounds
or attacking 13 rounds)
- Nades not given when rushed to far away from spawn at map start.
- M1 sound changes
- M1 must be faster its not a bolt i want to defend mine self in close combat fight against spray noobs with pipy guns (if u want to leave it slow increase accuracy when shooted without aim sight and little more recoil when shooted with aim shigt.
- Havy MG sounds changes
- Weapon accuracy neeeeeds to be little better when shoooted from Hand (with out aim shight)
I have tested this recently in real life and that need to be just little better (but still to stop
spraying noobs) !!!!! (edited: i just tested it on the server no need for this change)
- Aiming accuracy when shoting with aim shight Needs more recoil!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Running speed with no changes it lets u think twice before crossing the street like a fool !!!!

I want ur realisam BJ to be even more reallistic no mather what the spray nobs are saying.

Amen to that brother. People just aim down the sight and they can snipe while continuesly (SP?) holding down the trigger and that shouldn't happen. Also I would like people to run a little faster. For me the mod is great though.

It seems to be working great - thank you for your continuing efforts. Any ideas yet as to why fall damage does not work unless you use the console to start (listen server, DM)?

No, unfortunately, I do not really know. I am guessing it is because you are actually running a listen server, which means that the RCON gives a loopback to you as client. If you want to change the falldamage (which involves changing cheat-protected cvars in script), the RCON loopbacks to you as a client and therefore prohibits you from changing, since you are also a client playing on the server. That's the only guess I can do, I am not at all sure about it.

Update:

Plant and defuse sounds can be disabled.
Bomb timer can be disabled.
"Deadtags" on scoreboard can be disabled in HQ, SD and CTF.


And as usual, the BJustReal BETA version (http://www.aa-clan.net/downloads/BJustReal/BJustReal%20BETA.zip) is also updated.

Long time no see, but here is another update anyway. A big one, and some changes were already on the server, but I will summarize here nevertheless.

Update:

21-9-2006

All players on the winning team can be awarded points for winning the round in SD.
Customizable respawn time in CTF and HQ.
Option to hide the progress bar "Losing HQ" in HQ.
Customizable weapon zoom.
Realistic recoil for all weapons. The recoil is dependant of the stance the player is in. Standing results in full recoil, while crouching significantly reduces recoil. Going prone will result in little to no recoil, especially with weapons like the BAR and the Bren.
The ability for players to use their iron sights when in mid-air (when jumping for example), can be turned off.
Two new gametypes: Officer and Team Elimination.


Gametypes:

Officer
This gametype is based on the VIP gametype by La Truffe (http://callofduty.filefront.com/file/VIP_CoD2_Gametype;69341). He has given me permission to use his gametype in my mod and to modify it as much as I wanted. I have renamed it from VIP to Officer and did some more things to it.

In this teambased gametype, players will have to kill the other team's officer while protecting their own. Every team's officer is randomly chosen from the available players in that team. Whenever a team kills the enemy officer, they will be rewarded a team point. The team with the highest score will win after the timelimit or scorelimit is reached. Players respawn after a configurable time (default = 15 seconds).

The officer has only a pistol and is not able to pick up other weapons than a pistol. The officer is visible on the compass by his teammates and is indicated by his country's flag. The officer can also be visible by enemies on the compass with his country's flag, this is customizable.

This gametype uses the TDM spawns and is compatible with every map that has Team Deathmatch compatibility.

Team Elimination
In this teambased gametype, players will have to kill all the other players on the opposing team. This gametype is roundbased and players will not respawn until a new round starts. It is comparable with the Search & Destroy gametype, without bomb zones.

This gametype uses the SD spawns and is compatible with every map that has Search & Destroy compatability.

Some more information about the Officer gametype:

Scoring goes as follows: Whenever a player kills the enemy officer, he will be awarded 5 points. Whenever a player protects his own officer, he will be awarded 3 points. For every minute the officer manages to stay alive, he will get 2 points.

There is a BJustReal FINAL BETA download (http://bjusterbaarlik.googlepages.com/BJustRealFINALBETA.zip) available. No readme included, since it is not done yet. If there are any bugs/glitches, do not hesitate to report them!

It has been a while, but I thought I would post an update anyway.

Update:

12-3-2007

Players will fall over when hit by an explosion.
Players fall over when hit in their feet.
Players fall over when hit in their lower legs.
Other players will now hear you moan and grunt when severely wounded. (When HealthRegen & RealRegen are on.)
Increased breathing effect on all weapons.
Real weapon names.

So what's the status of 2.2? I've installed it, it looks good and it seems to run well. I have a few additional questions but I'll post them in the other forum.
